Að búa til grafíkmyndir er áskorun sem margir listamenn taka, tæknin er oft frekar flókin ogútkoman stundum óvænt. Þessar myndir eru oftast prentaðar í mörgum eintökum svo það er hægt að hafa þær á lægra verði. Prent aðferðirnar eru margar hverjar ekki mikið notaðar af öðrum en listamönnum.Helstu aðferðirnar eru: Tréskurður, steinprent, æting og silkiprent. Grafíkin er stundum handlituð eða prentuð með mörgum litum. Það eru til fleiri aðferðir og útfærslur á þeim: mónótýpa, image on, offset o.s.frv. Núna á síðustu misserum heyrist mér á Jóhanni Torfasyni grafík meistara í LHí, að grafíkin sé að koma sterk inn,þetta er ánægjuleg þróun því grafíkin er einskonar fulltrúi lýðræðisins á listmarkaðinum.
